8. Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies for two things. Session cookies keep you signed in and are required for the service to work. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics for Firebase) tell us which pages and features people use, in aggregate, so we can improve them — nothing for advertising, and no data is sold. Analytics cookies are set only after you choose “Accept” on the cookie bar; choosing “Decline” keeps them off, and you can revisit the choice by clearing this site’s data in your browser. Where you came from (a campaign tag or a referral link) may be stored with your account when you sign up, so we can tell which channels bring people in. We send two kinds of optional email — reminders about your own reads, and announcements — and both can be switched off under Settings or with the one-click unsubscribe link every such email carries; account emails (receipts, sign-in alerts, password resets) are not optional.
